A Norwegian-American TV
A Norwegian-American TV show called "Lilyhammer" was created by Netflix and first debuted on the service in 2012. Known for playing Silvio Dante in "The Sopranos," Steven Van Zandt plays Frank Tagliano, a New York mobster who enrols in the witness protection programme and relocates to Lillehammer, Norway, in the programme.
The show chronicles Frank's exploits as he struggles to adapt to his new life abroad, overcoming culture shock, picking up a new language, and attempting to maintain a low profile while operating a nightclub. Because of his criminal past, Frank must navigate the local underground while attempting to avoid getting into trouble with the law in Norway.
"Lilyhammer" received plaudits for its inventive blending of crime, dark humour, and cross-cultural conflict as well as for its spectacular photography and lovely scenery. The show's run ended in 2014 after three seasons and a total of 24 episodes.
One of Netflix's first original productions, the programme contributed to the company's rise to prominence in the TV business. Additionally, it laid the path for subsequent Netflix Originals like "House of Cards," "Orange is the New Black," and "Stranger Things."
