The Platform (2019)

The suspenseful thriller "The Platform" is set in a dystopian future with sharp societal divisions. The movie is set in "The Pit," a vertical prison with multiple levels and two inmates per level. Each day, food-filled platforms travel from the top to the bottom of the prison, allowing inmates on every level to eat. However, there is a catch: the less food there is, the lower the level.

Gore, a new prisoner who awakens on a lower level of The Pit and must survive the hostile surroundings, is the main character of the novel. Tris, his seasoned and cunning cellmate, is standing next to him. Together, they fight to survive in this bleak environment where violence, desperation, and despair are the norm.

Gore and Tris start to wonder whether The Pit's structure is inherently unfair as they observe people struggling to survive on a daily basis. In an effort to break the cycle of selfishness and apathy, they devise a plan to communicate with higher levels of authority in order to question the status quo.

They run into ruthless inmates who will do whatever to ensure their life, making their journey one of continual danger. The movie examines morality, greed, and the effects of complacency in the face of injustice.

As Gore and Tris move up the levels, they learn more about The Pit and the sinister powers that keep it going. They come across fascinating characters who provide glimmers of possibilities, resistance, and hope.

"The Platform" poses challenging queries regarding the nature of mankind, societal norms, and the moral ramifications of our decisions. It exposes the worst and best of human nature by shining a harsh light on the extremes of human behaviour in difficult situations.

"The Platform" keeps viewers on the edge of their seats while inspiring contemplation on the weaknesses and virtues of our society because to its intense atmosphere, rich plot, and strong performances. It serves as a warning about the repercussions of unbridled power and the value of sympathy and cooperation in the face of difficulty.
