The American Psycho

A psychological thriller movie called "American Psycho" was released in 2000. The movie, which was directed by Mary Harron, is an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' 1991 book of the same name. Patrick Bateman, a wealthy investment banker and serial killer in 1980s New York City, is portrayed by Christian Bale in the film's lead role.

The movie focuses on Bateman's double existence, contrasting his polished, successful exterior with his violent and cruel instincts. The sombre themes of materialism, identity, and the hazy border between reality and hallucination are all explored.


Although "American Psycho" initially garnered poor reviews, it now has a sizable cult following. In particular, Christian Bale's portrayal of the insane and selfish Patrick Bateman has received high praise. The movie is renowned for its chic aesthetics, biting satire, and frightening depiction of violence.
