The Conjuring (2013)

Horror movie "The Conjuring" was released in 2013 and was directed by James Wan and written by Chad and Carey W. Hayes. The film is based on the actual experiences of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. In the movie, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga play Ed and Lorraine Warren, and the plot centres on them as they look into a number of supernatural happenings in a farmhouse in Rhode Island.

In 1971, the farmhouse is occupied by the Perron family, which consists of Carolyn and Roger Perron and their five daughters. Soon after they arrive, odd occurrences like unexplained noises, doors opening and closing by themselves, and the development of unexplainable bruises on Carolyn's body begin to occur. The Perron family asks the Warrens to look into it, and when they do, they learn that the home is haunted by the ghosts of the former owner and her family as well as a malicious spirit that is attempting to take possession of one of the Perron girls.

The Warrens investigate the house's sinister past and make an effort to drive out any bad spirits that may still linger there. Even though they struggle through terrible and hazardous conditions, they ultimately succeed.

The critically acclaimed and financially successful film "The Conjuring" gave rise to a series of prequels and spin-offs.
